Let us know what you think about IQWorks

We've now moved the code and the downloads of the binary executable to the SourceForge website, and we have started using their tools for bug reports, support requests and for enhancement suggestions.

Therefore please use that resource to report back from now on smile

In the mean time, all the feedback is still on this page below. For those that weren't answered here, please try the new version of code and check against the release notes for the last couple of versions to see if your issue has been fixed. If not, please try using the latest version (0.7) and then if the problem remains please create a ticket on the SourceForge website so we can attend to it there.

Hi Ed,

What's the latest on the project? Any news on a release date? We'd like to help to test it by trying it out if that is OK with you.

Best Wishes, Jim

Hello,

this is a nice approach. We are running a similar project: Optimage (http://santec.tudor.lu/projects/optimage/) with similar goals.

It might be a good idea to collaborate to get the best solution possible. If you are interested please contact me via mail: Andreas (dot) Jahnen (at) tudor (dot) lu. Best Regards, Andreas

hello to all what about the status of the project? any news when the software will be available for testing? I would like to help in testing and evaluation. Grettings, Georg

is there a mac compatible version?

-- ShahedKhan? - 19 Jun 2009

There isn't a mac compatible version. The software is written in c#, so there is potential in the future for a linux or mac version using mono, but nothing for now.

I have been attempting to use the logarithmic calibrator to linearise pixel value with dose of images acquired using Fuji CR. I have been using v0.5 of IQWorks (build 22/10/09). Upon "linearising" the data, I then plot PV with dose, only to find that the function is still logarithmic. This would sugget to me that there is a flaw in the code.

-- JamieDouglas? - 07 Dec 2009

If you have used the 'Fuji CR Antilog Calibrator', then apologies, as this routine does not function. Please use the Linear, Logarithmic or Power Law calibrators as appropriate instead.

-- EdMcDonagh - 07 Dec 2009

Is there some way to linearise Fuji CR data (i.e. logarithmic) using IQWorks?

-- JamieDouglas? - 10 Dec 2009

Hi Jamie,

Are you finding that the pixel values don't change when you apply the Logarithmic calibrator? If you use a simple region of interest, then switch between the Linear calibrator and Logarithmic calibrator then the reported stats should vary depending upon which one is chosen, and the parameters applied. This is the behaviour I'm seeing on test images here.

Please could you zip up a couple of test images (for different dose levels) and your save signal calibrator, then upload these, and I can try to replicate the problem.

Hi, I'd been starting to use IQWorks (0.4) and created some analysis trees, however our IT department replaced our PC and now I can't get it to work, even with fresh installs (inc v0.5). It seems to get stuck on edge detect and MTF functions, giving me the following error message: RemotingException?: Failed to connect to an IPC Port: The system cannot find the file specified.

Thanks!

I think I've found a bug: when using an elliptical ROI, the various ROI values (minimum, maximum etc) seem to be initialised based on the top left hand corner of the square bounding box. This means that, if you have a circular phantom with a large circular ROI, the minimum value returned is that of the air outside the phantom rather than within the ROI itself. I've had a quick look at the source code but can't get it to compile (using Visual Studio 2010) so may have to rely on someone else to produce a fix.

The Logarithmic Signal Calibrator seems to fall over when the image contains pixel values of zero. I am finding this with Fuji CR images - the space between the rounded image plate corner and the rectangular image corner has a PV of 0. Fix to ignore zero values please?

I have found same problem as Liz above, regarding elliptical ROIs.

I can't get IQWORKS to open Toshiba CT "volume" images [a block of 256 thin (0.5mm or 1.0mm) slices generated from a single rotation with the cone beam]. The volume image is 164MB and will open OK using Sante DICOM viewer and my computer has 4GB of RAM so I don't think it is a memory issue. Had anyone else had this problem, and have you been able to fix it ?

-- LynnMartinez - 21 Mar 2012

I am trying to apply the signal calibrator through the general fixer is that possible?

-- KostasMichael - 29 May 2012

Hi, This is a bug report. When differentiating a noisy image of an edge (in the center of the image!), using the Edge Analysis module, the differentiated image will show high gradient in areas that are just random noise. We are therefore assuming there is some sort of thresholding going on and the actual edge is missed. Please contact me for images/trees/etc.
